Zhiquan Liu was born in Heilongjiang Province, P. R. China in 1986. He completed the B.S. degrees in automation at the Qiqihar University, Qiqihar, in 2009 and the Ph.D. degree in control theory and control engineering at Harbin Engineering University, Harbin, in 2015. From September 2013 to September 2014, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Strathclyde, UK. His research interests include ship motion control, marine vehicle control, hydrodynamics, and nonlinear control.
